We as Pflaster für Tanzania e.V. feel committed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations (UN) as part of sustainable development cooperation and work according to these principles. We cooperate with local partner organizations and companies on an equal footing to ensure a sustainable effect of the collaboration.

GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
Our project partnerships are all related to the topic of health. Together with Kafika House, we are committed to enabling people with operable disabilities to have a better life and participation. We not only focus on the (operable) treatment of handicaps but also on destigmatization. Information about the origins, treatment and long-term options for dealing with handicaps are also part of the Kafika House outreach program. The handicaps treated represent the so-called group of neglected surgical diseases.
In the fight against snakebites, we are working with many different project partners, in particular the Meserani Snake Park Clinic and the FAME Hospital in Karatu, to provide free care for this disease. We provide these centers with free Polyvalent Snake Antivenom (ASV) to enable free treatment of snakebite injuries and envenomations to all people in Tanzania. Snakebites are one of the neglected tropical diseases.
Sustainable Development Goals
Sustainable development cooperation means working with partners on equal footing and designing projects to be as sustainable as possible. The SMART criteria form the foundation for effective action. Specifically, this means for us:

We source from local partner companies whenever possible to reduce delivery costs, emissions, and waiting times, while supporting the local economy.

We make success measurable, clearly identifying which milestones were achieved in the projects and how donations contributed to their success.

We treat all people equally in all projects, regardless of sex, income, gender, ancestry, origin, or any other factors.
With the help of monetary and in-kind donations, we want to support our projects on the ground and improve the lives of many small and large patients. We aim to provide the population, which often lives in poverty, with unrestricted access to medical care.
We are committed to achieving the goal of reducing deaths from snake bites by 50% by 2030 and making the treatment of snake bites in Tanzania free of charge.
Transparency
With us, every donated euro reaches the projects in full. Administrative costs such as bank fees, website charges, or similar expenses are covered by membership fees. We allocate donations where the need is currently greatest. Project-specific donations are always used as indicated in the purpose of the donation, while unrestricted donations go into our "General Fund."
Our members, volunteers, and visitors cover all flight and accommodation costs privately when visiting projects in Tanzania. Pflaster für Tansania e.V. does not fund these expenses but provides support and advice to volunteers during their stay.
Through partnerships with the company Premium Serums in India, we are able to provide even more patients with free polyvalent snake antivenom. Premium Serums is the only company worldwide producing a polyvalent antivenom approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for use in treating snakebites in Southern Africa.
